Andy Williams-like pop singer, best known as the father of singer Jackie Rogers Jr.. Most of what is known of him is from the SCTV sketch, "Jackie, We Hardly Knew Ye" (first aired 11 March 1983), a mockumentary where Jackie Rogers Jr. played his father.

J.R. Senior had a vaudeville act and used his kids in it (, Jackie Rogers Sr. and The Seven Little Rogers), until the State of New York took 'em away and he hit the skids. He later became an Andy-Williams type crooner, and died after being mauled by a cougar in the middle of his 1970 comeback special, Old Mother Nature, She Loves Me. I believe he was singing "Born Free." His son wrote a tell-all, Damn You, Daddy, Sir. Unlike his son, Jackie Rogers Sr. was not an albino.

Played by Martin Short.
