In an alternate universe, famed poet Ezra Pound (1885–1972) became a folk singer instead, as mentioned in Robert Anton Wilson's Schrodinger's Cat Trilogy, published in 1979 consisting of The Universe Next Door, The Trick Top Hat, and The Homing Pigeons.

Pound is serving time at minimum security prison Lewisburg Federal Penitentiary.

Another distinguished guest at Lewisburg that year was the aging Idaho poet and folk singer Ezra Pound, who was also in for Un-American Activities. He and Crane never got along well, because Pound, who had seldom been outside Idaho, distrusted all easterners.
