Janitor at the orphanage where The Blues Brothers grew up from the 1980 Blues Brothers film. He taught them the blues, and how to dress. Played by bandleader Cab Calloway, he sings "Minnie the Moocher," at the big concert finale.
His last name was not given, but it might be in the book based on the movie by Belushi's wife Judith Jacklin Belushi.
Calloway died in 1994, and so was not in the 1998 sequel film, Blues Brothers 2000. We do get a bit of his backstory, though, as it is mentioned that prior to janitoriary, “he had a musical group, that toured the juke joints of the Midwest.” While on the road, he had an affair and a child with a married woman, who decided to keep the baby as her husband's. Devastated by this, Curtis came to the St. Helen of the Blessed Shroud Orphanage and cared for orphans for the rest of his life.
