In the 1957 film Jailhouse Rock, Ur-rocker Elvis Presley plays Vince, an ex-con who makes good. One of the better Elvis movies, and one that has musical interludes that make sense (i.e. rock star sings song) instead of the weird "I feel a song coming on" quality of his other films.
