Richard H. 'Dickie' Hodfodder is a minor character in Colin MacInnes' 1956 novel Absolute Beginners. As the namesake of the Dickie Hodfodder Club, he leads the house band of that jazz club, the Dickie Hodfodder Orchestra. They play 'a sort of not very tidal mainstream'. On some nights, they are fronted by vocalist Athene Duncannon. On other nights, they alternate with a group called Cuthberto Watkyns and Haitian Obeah, led by French-language vocalist Cuthberto Watkyns.
