Stringed fictional instrument played by crippled streetsinger Miowee in the 1990 science fiction novel Shadowplay (1990) by Jo Clayton. She sings "complainsongs" (protest songs) against the oppressive government of her planet.
She settled the kitskew (a stringed instrument like a lute) on her stumps and began playing a lively air, one meant to draw attention to her.
