Struggling young clarinet player from the "Second Fiddle to a Clarinet!" story of romance comic book Confessions of the Lovelorn #66 (December 1955). He's studying business law at Harvard, but both his dad and his girlfriend Shari don't understand his true passion, the clarinet. He drops out of college to go to Paris to study with the "great" Anton Duprez. He and Shari break up because she doesn't want to be a poor musician's wife.
Much later, Shari realizes how much she loves him and tracks him down to a dive in Rome. They slowly reconcile and get married. Then Roy reveals he's debuting his musical revue, Springtime in London (book by Phil Trent), which "was to prove to be a fabulously successful show..."
