Jonathan "Johnny" Street (Henry Fonda) is a struggling bohemian American composer in Paris in the 1935 comedy film I Dream Too Much, A chance encounter with Annette Monard, played by real opera soprano Lily Pons, leads to a night on the town (Paris) after which they end up married. Only Johnny was drunk and doesn't want to be married. She sings some of his opera to an opera bigwig who loves it! Only, he only loves her voice, and she gets popular while Johnny remains unsuccessful.
