Ray Stevens' "The Rock and Roll Show" skit from his 1962 album 1,837 Seconds of Humor has three parodies of current song trends in it.
- Tommy Jimmy is an Elvis-esque incomprehensible rockabilly singer.
- Sally Smash is a lip-synching African American pop singer
- Instrumentalist Wayne Twang plays a very twangy guitar.
