From the 2010 children's picture book Hip & Hop, Don't Stop! by Jef Cjekaz, and a 2012 sequel Yes, Yes, Yaul!
Both citizens of the highly segregated Oldskool County, Hip, a turtle, and Hop, a rabbit, bravely cross the species lines to become friends and compete as this duo in the county Rap Off contest.
The other, briefly shown contestants are animal-themed puns on the names of real rappers, like Notorious P.I.G., LudaFish, and Jay-Zebra.
