Songwriter who's an out-and-out heel and cad; he turns his old love letters into songs and turns his friend's death into a hit song.

From the 1928 novel Lord Byron of Broadway; it was turned into the mediocre 1930 musical film of the same name, where he was played by Charles Kaley.
