Drummer of British indie rock band Swipe, from the newspaper comic and graphic novel 'Tamara Drewe' (2007) by Posy Simmonds. In the movie adaptation of 'Tamara Drewe' (2010), Ben reappears in a slightly more adrenalized version played by Dominic Cooper.
In the book, Ben Sergeant is acclaimed for co-writing Swipe's albums 'Rush of Blood' and 'Top Shelf'. Over the end credits of the film he can be heard singing the song 'Jail-Bait Jody', dedicated to his underage fan Jody Long, played by Jessica Barden. Ben drives a yellow Porsche and has a dog called Boss.
