Fictional guitarist who really pays his dues in the 1967 song "Guitar Man" by Jerry Reed. He travels from Kingston to Memphis to Macon to Panama City before finally finding a job leading the house combo at a club called Big Jack's in Mobile, Alabama.
The song was covered by Elvis Presley the same year, and they both had middling chart success with it. It was used in the Elvis movie Clambake.
