The band's story centers on Yukio "Koyuki" Tanaka as he learns guitar, joins the band, and eventually becomes an international success. The rest of the band includes:

- Yoshiyuki Taira, bass
- Yuji "Saku" Sakurai, drums
The band goes by Mongolian Chop Squad in the U.S.
