Classical Italian violinist who's career isn't doing so well from the convoluted "The Violin of Death!" story of comic book Weird Horrors #2 (Aug. 1952). Convinced owning a Stradivarius violin will fix all his problems, he and his accompanist Giovanni Monti are overheard by a weird blind beggar. He promises Antonio a Strad, and they follow the beggar back to his creepy cottage, where Antonio plays the Strad, shadowy figures begin to appear, the place catches on fire, the beggar and the cottage disappear, poof, along with the violin.
But now Antonio knows how to get himself a Stradivarius! Find the decaying skeleton of a member of the Stradivarius family, play evil violin music over his bones in the moonlight, magically re-clothing the bones in flesh, and forcing the resulting green-skinned zombie horror to be your own personal zombie violin-maker!
But then Antonio goes blind, and is compelled to travel to Genoa, where he lures another, unnamed concert violinist with promises of a Stradivarius.
