Orchestral ensemble conducted by René Köhler that backed pianist Joyce Hatto on a number of recordings. Obviously they were a prestigious group. Or they were a "pick-up orchestra of Polish émigrés who...came out from London to record," according to Denis Dutton in the New York Times. Or they were made up and their music was actually a mishmash of relabeled recordings by actual orchestras. We're betting on #3.
