Aspiring jazz saxophonist/successful real estate agent who first appeared in Iron Man #55 (1973). He, his wife Yvette, and daughter Heather were killed by Thanos (the purple dude with the slick, jet-powered chair who pops up in the end-credits scenes of Marvel flicks). Then another Titan (Thanos's dad Mentor) turned Arthur's soul into Drax the Destroyer. A few years later, Marvel retconned the daughter surviving the attack and becoming the hero Moondragon, meaning Yvette Douglas is that rarest of all things: a comic book character who stays dead.
For the most part, there's no mention of Drax's musical history, but a few issues have alluded to his sax knowledge.
