French-language jazz singer appearing in Colin MacInnes' 1956 novel Absolute Beginners. On some evenings he performs with a group at the Dickie Hodfodder Club, as Cuthberto Watkyns and Haitian Obeah. According to the narrator, Cuthberto "had some songs in dialect French about the resistance movement to Napoleon, I think it was, of the last King of the Zombies."
