Cecilia Carol "C.C." Bloom (Bette Midler) is a successful singer in the 1988 film Beaches, based on the 1985 novel of the same title by Iris Rainer Dart.
Dart also wrote a sequel, I'll Be There (aka Beaches 2: I'll Be There), that was published in 1991.
The film was remade in 2017 as a Lifetime Channel made-for-tv movie with Idina Menzel as Bloom.
The character was loosely based on real singer Cher, whom Dart had worked with previously.
