Flamboyant, well-connected, bizarre rock producer and manager from the wild 1970 film Beyond the Valley of the Dolls. He takes over managing new band The Kelly Affair and renames them The Carrie Nations, to the disappointment of previous manager Harris Allsworth (David Gurian).

His real name is Ronnie Barzell (John LaZar). He's pals with real band Strawberry Alarm Clock, who have a scene playing a party at his mansion.

In the film's batcrazy climax, Z-Man comes on to handsome gigolo Lance Rocke (Michael Blodgett) at a drug-fueled party. When he's rebuffed, Z-Man goes nuts, revealing himself to really be female/trans, killing Lance with a sword, and murdering three more people: his servant Otto, Carrie Nations member Casey, and Casey's lesbian lover Roxanne.

Carrie Nations leader Petronella is wounded subduing Z-Man who dies.

The violent ending was inspired by the real-life Manson murders.
