Family jug band featured in several episodes of of classic TV sitcom The Andy Griffith Show. The band consisted of patriarch Briscoe (Denver Pyle) on jug, Charlene (Maggie Peterson) on vocals, and the Darling boys (real-life bluegrass band The Dillards).
The Darlings appeared in six episodes:
- "The Darlings Are Coming" (first aired 18 March 1963)
- "Mountain Wedding" (first aired 29 Apr. 1963)
- "Briscoe Declares for Aunt Bee" (first aired 28 Oct. 1963)
- "Divorce, Mountain Style" (first aired 30 March 1964)
- "The Darling Baby" (first aired 7 Dec. 1964)
- "The Darling Fortune" (17 Oct. 1966).
They also appeared in the 1986 reunion TV movie Return to Mayberry.
