He first used it on publishing his parody cantata The Tragical Story of the Mare, again as the composer of his burlesque opera, The Dragon of Wantley (1736–37), and for Three Burlesque Cantatas (1741). Three Burlesque Cantatas compiles three previously published pieces, The New Year’s Ode, The Tragical Story of the Mare, and The Musical Hodge Podge.
