In the comic book The Wicked + The Divine, every 90 years twelve random human beings turn into reincarnated gods and goddesses. Despite being immortal and having other god-powers, they all end up dead in two years. The series is written by Kieron Gillen, illustrated by Jamie McKelvie, and published by Image Comics.
Their purpose each go-round is to inspire humanity and fight off the Great Darkness. In the 2010s "Recurrence" (the term for their appearance) they all become pop stars.
Minerva is the youngest god to incarnate and was financially exploited by her parents until they were murdered. She is the Roman goddess of wisdom.
