Penniless songwriter and dancer who works at the swanky Club Petite in the 1943 film Du Barry Was a Lady. He's gaga for May Daly (Lucille Ball), a gold-digger looking for a sugar daddy. She's ambivalent to his charms, even when he sings to her the song he wrote for her, "Do I Love You?" (really written by Cole Porter in 1939).
Played by Gene Kelly.
