They impress the crowd by not using mics or amps, and sending their lead guitarist to play out in the field to keep his unplugged guitar from drowning out bells played with kisses.
Show regular Carrie Brownstein (Sleater-Kinney guitarist) plays a guitarist, but the lead guitarist is played by indie rock legend J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. The rest of the band is played by members of real band Dirty Projectors.
They compete against Featherwash and Franny Wisp.
