One of the many fictional jazz outfits created by DJ/producer Madlib in the 2000s. The releases by these 'bands' on Stones Throw Records often looked and sounded as if they were vintage and discovered in a second-hand record store, with pre-printed ringwear on the cover and pre-recorded vinyl crackling in between songs. The 2004 album of Monk Hughes And The Outer Realm, "A Tribute To Brother Weldon", is dedicated to the actual musician Weldon Irvine (1943-2002).
