Golden, diamond-encrusted talking flute from the wacked-out kids' television series H.R. Pufnstuf (1969). he belongs to human protagonist Jimmy.
Bumbling villain Witchiepoo wants Freddy so badly, she lures them to magical Living Island via magical boat. Her inexplicable desire to posses Freddy drives most of the plots.
What's never explained is how otherwise ordinary human Jimmy got Freddy in the first place.
The 1970 H.R. Pufnstuf movie showed a little backstory. Jimmy owned a perfectly normal flute, but was kicked out of the band. He ran off to the woods and threw down his flute, which inexplicably transformed into golden, talking Freddy. Dude.
