Thinly veiled alter egos of Elton John and Bernie Taupin from the 1975 album of the same name, which documented their early years in the late-'60s London music scene. At some point after the release of this album, the Cowboy (Taupin) chose to change his name, since the 2006 follow-up is named The Captain & the Kid.
