From the classic 1990 Nintendo video game Super MarioWorld. He is a large, orange, turtle-like creature, named after real composer Ludwig van Beethoven (1770–1827). This white-haired composer is one of the bosses you must defeat in this SuperNintendo game. His castle is atop Cookie Mountain.

He was one of the Koopalings, children of final boss Bowser, but that relationship was later retconned out.
