All-female band inspired by Beatlemania in "The Ladybugs" episode (24 March 1964) of TV sitcom Petticoat Junction (1963-1970). It's all part of scheming Uncle Joe Carson's money-making scheme. He's got booking agent Colonel Partridge (Jesse White) to come up and check them out. Mom is agin it.
They even appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show, singing "I Saw Her Standing There" only two days before the episode aired. The Beatles had only appeared on Ed's show about six weeks earlier, on February 9, 1964. This is probably the first fictional Beatles-related band in America!
