From Norman Spinrad's 1987 rock 'n' roll sci-fi novel Little Heroes. A real, flesh and blood English rock star, competing against virtual, or AP (artificial personality) rock stars created by record company Muzik, Inc.
Up on the stage, Lord Jimmy pranced and preened and whirled his cloak as he belted out "At Your Command" in a clear, ringing, infectiously self-amused voice, the bouncy, sassy beat and the sarcastic wavering horn playing nicely against his egomania.
