Down 'n' out crooner from the "Command Performance" story of Ace Magazines comic book Dotty #38 (January 1949). Hat check girl and protagonist Dotty Draper talks her boss into giving him a chance at the El Kisco club where she works. He becomes a surprise hit, and Dotty hooks him up with Broadway producer Hal Archer, who comes to see the kid as a favor to Dotty. He hires him as lead in his new musical Merry-Go-Round. Then he gets a big fat head, and Dotty connives again, this time to puncture his balloon.
