Unusual superhero who first appeared in the comic book Reg'lar Fellers Heroic Comics #12 (May 1942). Violinist John Wallace gets stabbed with a violin bow while protecting the mysterious old violin maker "Papa" Antonini, who saves him from death with the magical Pipes of Life/Pipes of Death. Antonini give him the pipes, but is later gets killed, inspiring Wallace to become this superhero.
He also got a sidekick, Downbeat. His nemesis was The Mad Fiddler
He last appeared in the "The Room that Wasn't There" story in issue #31 of Heroic Comics #31 (July 1945).
