Fictional septet featured in the music video for "Crystal," a 2001 single by synthpop pioneers New Order. The video depicts this band lip-synching the song, then getting mobbed by people and thrown off stage. The video is credited to New Order, but the bass drum says the lip synchers are "The Killers."
Interestingly, the real band the Killers took their name from this video. So we have some nice real band -> fake band -> real band action going on.
"The Killers" was also one of the possible names for the best ever death metal band in Denton in the song of the same name.
