Band used as a cutaway gag in one of the recurring "Just Plain Ray" comedy skits on the television series The Ray Stevens Show (1970).
Yolande (Jo Anne Worley), a Carmen Miranda-type singer with a giant fruit hat fronts a string quartet. After singing for 12 seconds, she's knocked unconscious by one of the cello players, and the quartet devolves into a slapstick fight.
Later in the same skit, a lumberjack mentions Los Amigos de las Cucarachas.
They also appeared on The Andy Williams Show in November of 1970, which makes sense, since Andy Williams helped get The Ray Stevens Show on the air.
