The Simpsons finally got around to manufactured boy bands in the "New Kids on the Blecch" episode (25 Feb. 2001). This unseen boy band is only mentioned in passing as having been put together by Classified Records producer L.T. Smash (who also put together Boyneudo)
However, L. T. Smash is really Navy Lt. L.T. Smash, working on the U.S. Navy's Project Boy Band to brainwash the youth of America to join the Navy with subliminal messages and backward masking. His latest venture, The Party Posse breaks up after Smash goes nuts.
The band's name is a play on real boy band New Kids on the Block, started in 1984-1985.
