Mike Myers actually started this band BEFORE Austin Powers. The retro sixties sound helped inspire him to invent the character. The band was Matthew Sweet (as Sid Belvedere) on bass, Bangle Susanna Hoffs (as Julian Shagwell) on rhythm guitar, Stuart Johnson on drums, and Chris Ward on guitar.
